An exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join a fantastic school who support young people with social and emotional difficulties. Term-time only hours, excellent support and training and the chance to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people.
General Learning Support Assistant duties: Your overall responsibility will be to ensure all students have equal opportunities to develop themselves academically. This will be achieved by promoting the importance of education and supporting the specific needs of the young people in the class room and at other group activities. You will promote self esteem and support the students in making informed decisions. The Learning Support Assistant role involves a level of personal care and you will need to support with physical interventions when necessary to ensure the safety of Learners and other staff. Training for this will be given. You will work term time only hours, Monday to Friday 8.30 – 4.30 but you will be paid throughout the year.
Learning Support Assistant Criteria: You will be working in a challenging but highly rewarding environment. You must be confident at managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours, be an engaging and passionate person and have a strong desire to develop the skills and life opportunities of disadvanated young people.
