Events Assistant

Location: Hove

Hours: Full Time (35 hour week)

Occasional weekend work (for additional remuneration)

Contract: initial 3 months with extension to full time

Salary: £17,000 per annum

Job Description:

We are a small and friendly team who work with a number of client to organise to various UK and European Exhibitions.

You will be responsible for providing support services to ensure the smooth running of a variety of exhibitions and day to day running of a small office. Your attention to detail will be key to every aspect of the role and you will need to possess excellent time management, multi tasking and communication skills. It is essential that you are able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

No experience necessary as training in all aspects of the role will be given as required and future development reviewed on a constant basis.

Responsibilities:

Maintain office stationery supplies

Answer the phone and take messages or deal with queries in a professional manner. Be first point of communication either in person or by telephone for all exhibitors

Maintain databases and spreadsheets for all events

Deal with paperwork from exhibitors

General office administration/knowledge of office procedures e.g. filing, photocopying, typing, dealing with incoming mail

Provide a full range of administrative duties/functions to the rest of the team and when required

Actively engage in continuous improvement ensuring suggestions and opportunities are highlighted

Book travel and hotels

Management of social media

Skills & Attributes:

Excellent communications skills (verbal, written and listening skills), with excellent spelling, grammar and the ability to produce error-free documents

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point and use of Mac products is an advantage

Knowledge of social media platforms

Pro-active and self motivated

Planning & organisation skills

Problem solving, questioning and focussed on finding solutions

Working on your own, using your own initiative, as well as being a team player

Flexible and with a passion for continuous improvement
