Painter & Decorator
West Lavant, Chichester
Our client is looking to appoint a Painter & Decorator, who will report to the Site Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of a safe, efficient and cost-effective service stream on all areas of service delivery, ensuring the highest quality of work is provided in the timescales.
The role will focus on managing the repair and refurbishment of the site, together with construction of new buildings. They are a small and friendly team, and over time, the successful applicant will have increasing opportunities to diversify within the organisation if desired.
Duties and key responsibilities:
Ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, within budgetPreparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paintMixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfacesHandling planning and prep work in an efficient mannerCommunication – ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, including key stakeholdersStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication.Proactive, ‘can do’ approachAbility to prioritise their workloadGood attention to detail and ability to show initiativeA technical, logical thought process
Desirable Key Skills and Qualifications:
Good practical skillsThe ability to work carefully and accuratelyThe ability to work as part of a teamA good awareness of health and safety issuesHigh School Diploma or GED Certification RequiredSuitable to take an enhanced DBS checkWorking with a Grade II listed building would be an advantageConfident using the internet to research products, prices and procedures - good day-to-day computer literacy and numeracy skillsCommercially aware with excellent organisational skillsExcellent communication skills and customer focusedSelf-motivated and ambitious
